Senior Prefect's Speech.
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Gracious.
Good day, chairman of occasion, P. T. A. members, the director, the principal, the members of staff, Honourable Guests present, Parents, Students, Distinguished Ladies and Gentlemen.
It is with a mixture of excitement and sadness that I am delivering this speech. I am sad to be leaving the school but at the same time, I am excited with what is in front of me and the challenges ahead.
My years in Mafazat has been an interesting one. Though it was full of ups and downs but Alhamdulillah we were able to overcome all obstacles. It was full of moral and spiritual lessons.
First and foremost, our sincere gratitude and thanks to Almighty ALLAH (S. W. T) the first and last, He who has made our days in Mafazat a benefitting one. We appreciate Him for all His Mercy and guidance over us throughout our stay in Mafazat.
Also our appreciation goes to our lovely parents for always being there for us financially, spiritually, and morally. We really appreciate your endless effort and support in making sure we have a strong academic foundation in our life, we pray Almighty Allah make you reap the fruit of your labour and may all your efforts not go in vain (Amin).
I cannot end my speech without also saying thank you to several special people.
Dr Lawyer. Alh. Chief Abdul-Lateef A. Kelani a special thank you for your fatherly care upon us. You showered us with buckets of wisdom, clothed us with clothes of knowledge. We appreciate your effort and we say thank you for all you have done for us. We say a very big thank you for all your efforts towards our success.
Mr Yusuf Ganiyu our lovely, hardworking, encouraging and disciplined Principal. You showed us love and care during our stay in the school. You exposed us to the qualities of a good leader and taught us to be disciplined. May Almighty ALLAH continue to guide and protect you (Amin).
Mrs Oyelola, Mr Abdul-Kareem and all other teachers whom had all worked hard on us day and night, weekdays and weekends for us to be well-educated and groomed. We really appreciate your dedication towards us. May Allah reward you all abundantly (Amin).
My advice to our juniors is they should get committed to their studies, work hard, study and make sacrifices because as said by Pele “Success is no accident. It is hardwork perseverance, learning, studying, sacrifices and most of all love what you are doing or learning to do. “Magaret Thacher said “I do not know anyone who has gotten to the top without hardwork. That is the recipe, it will not always get you to the top but it should get you pretty near”.
Finally, I appreciate the efforts and supports of my fellow prefects and colleagues for their co-operation with me throughout my regime, without all our hands on deck I would not have been to achieve anything.
Thank you all. KELANI IBRAHIM.
